NEW YEARS EVE EXPRESSED

This is a musical montage I put together based on AFI’s 100 Years, 100 Movies Quotes. The list was made in 2005 and was first aired on CBS as a special to commemorate the 100 greatest quotes as voted by 1500 critics, artists, and historians. The montage has all 100 quotes including the one I added from It’s a Wonderful Life (101 total). It also has Bette Davis’ “What a dump” quote, which I was missing in both previous montages.

As each year comes to a close I think about all that has happened to me that year. I decided 2009 had been the best and worst year of my life. This video is my New Year’s resolution. It is a collection of things that have been said to me by some of the most important people in my life (most of you know who you are) and has brought me down all year. I intend to change or prove wrong every single one of them in hopes that 2010 will be even better.

Your mission is to do the same. Make a New Year’s resolution (it can be any kind and doesn’t have to relate to mine) and portray it in a video.

every year 1 of a select few friends makes/finds a new years poem to send round to every1 on new years eve

and this year its my turn

we dont do songs about god or the bible since we have a few muslim and other religion friends and dont wana upset them an stuff

so we find poems about
love
happyness
friends
family
and obv the new year

but i am really stuck i need a poem and cant find any.
i did start one of my self but cant think of what else to write

i really need ur help

any poems or rhyming quotes will do

Your question inspired me to write this. I doubt it is technically correct but it’s what came to mind when I thought about New Years resoluitions.

NEW YEAR’S EVE

As the chimes ring out the old and the bell tolls in the new,
Will you reflect with heavy heart the thoughts of what you rue?
Have you raised a single finger to those in time of need?
Have you tried to mend those broken hearts or spurned them as they bleed?

Have you thought it wrong to intervene when neighbours try to hide,
The conflict of the broken home, the violence that’s inside,
Have you failed to see those children who hide behind their eyes
The torment of unkindness that perverts their daily lives.

Have you simply switched the channel when news of war and strife,
Have trespassed in your sanctuary, to defile your perfect life?
Did you even write a letter to protest all you abhor?
When your fellow man came knocking, were you locked behind your door?

Did you question why your rulers use our wealth to sponsor death,
Whilst children all around the world today take their last breath?
Did you ask religious leaders, "Can you really all be right? "
Can you not see if God was real, we would not be in this plight.

It’s time for us to understand, we all must feel our shame,
Men bring hunger, war and pain – there’s no one else to blame,
As bells ring out another year of sadness, pain and grief,
Lets all resolve to proudly stand and trust our self-belief.

my friend and i (were 13) are having a new years eve party and need food to make. It cant be too unhealthy, but its new year’s eve so something fun to make for dinner appitizers and dessert is nice.(recipe plz)

Potato Chips and onion dip, Ritz chips and Vegetable dip, Pepperoni slices and cheese w. crackers. Stuffed celery (with cream cheese)…Cheesy Popcorn…Homemade punch:

1 bottle Ginger ALe
1 bottle 7-Up
2 Cups Orange Juice
1 Large bottle Hawaiian Punch
1/2 container of Sherbet (just float it in there)

i dont know what im doing for new years yet. but can someone please make me some outfits for a new year outfit. i want it to be comfrotable but classy and sort of dressy at the same time. im up for any color. dresses;skirts;pants; any thing works. also if u want to add a hairstyle and makeup idea. thanks in advance! best answers get 10 points!
i geuss i should add some more detail. ahah. im short about 5’2, and very thin. i have very light skin. blue eyes. and light brown hair a little bit past my shoulders.

I spend mine with three friends murray, charlotte and brittany. we watched orphan and the hangover before my bra came undone and i asked brittany to do it up then murray started questioning how you put a bra on and suddenly we were putting brittany’s bras on him then i woke up with eyeshadow all over my face and back and i loved every minute of it and my new years resolution is to put on weight but mostly in the right places

Spent it on house arrest, hated everyminute of 2009 , good to see you enjoyed your self because i for one didn’t. Oh i also got stood up by this girl.

The families generally go to South Bank for the fireworks, but everywhere is busy. There is a recent trend towards people celebrating in the suburbs at sporting clubs, street parties, etc.
